| Service Description: |
|
'Activity for LIFE' is an Exercise Referral programme promoting a more Healthy and Active Lifestyle. The programme is targeted at inactive adults over the age of 18 years, who can be referred for health related problems where exercise can benefit their condition.

| How to access: |
|
Referral is via Knowsley GP's who are signed up to the Activity for Life programme.
Patients will have an Identified Activity Rating:
1. Those with no major health concerns but lacking in exercise
2. Those with minor health concerns which can be monitored by the 'Activity for LIFE' Advisor within the leisure centre
3. Those patients with major health concerns which require constant supervision of the 'Activity for LIFE' Advisor, such as ischaemic heart disease, diabetes with complications, chronic respiratory condition, post operative and othopaedic conditions (e.g. severe back pain, prosthesis)
Referrals are only accepted for those patients not already taking part in regular exercise.

Club for people aged 60 plus. Operates one day a week on Thursdays, 1pm - 3pm at:

Hillside Avenue
Huyton
Members participate in different activities such as crafts, gardening an bingo. Also invites people to give talks. Trips out to venues of interest. |
